Tired of just ice cream in a bowl?
We're working on providing some special recipes,
including successful desserts from our restaurant partners. But, if you
are looking for something else to do with your ice cream, here are a few
ideas to get you started. |
|
Ice Cream Cake
You can use any cake mix or homemade cake for
a base. Two eight-inch rounds will make a spectacularly high ice cream
cake. Soften ice cream in the refrigerator for 15 to 20 minutes, until
it is spreadable (with a consistency like peanut butter). In the meantime,
cut each cake layer in half horizontally, make four thinner layers.
When the ice cream is softened, spread about two cups on the first cake
layer. Top this with another cake layer and repeat until you place the
fourth cake layer on top. You must work quickly to avoid having the
ice cream defrost too much. If necessary, put the completed layers in
the freezer for a few minutes to harden them. Once the cake is complete,
put the whole thing back into the freezer until it is completely refrozen.
You can frost the cake with any type of frosting, or simply with sweetened
whipped cream.Try these flavor combinations for a great taste sensation! Our super premium coconut ice cream with pineapple cake Our unique peanut butter ice cream with devil's food cake Our roasted almond gelato with spice cake |
